Hugs to You–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #361

MFTWSC361_2017nov29

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_361

And I didn’t even make a seasonal card, LOL! First of all I cut Twice the Hugs from Sweet Tooth card stock and colored a rainbow pattern with Copic markers. Next I stamped more Sweet Tooth card stock with Floral Fusion Background, cut it with Stitched Basic Edges Die-namics and “edged” it with Black Licorice card stock cut with Stitched Scallop Basic Edges, both popped up on foam tape.

MFTWSC361_2017nov29b

I stamped a partial sentiment from Lots of Hugs stamp set with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock cut with Blueprints 27 and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. I adhered that directly to the card front and popped the rainbow element up on top. To finish, I added some Wild Cherry card stock hearts cut with Tag Builder Blueprints 5.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Wishing You Peace This Holiday–Color Throwdown Challenge #471

CTD471_2017nov29

Hello there! It’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Amy Rysavy is our hostess and she has a fun color combo for us based on this trendy inspiration piece.

swatch471

I decided to go dramatic with my design by using a Black Licorice card stock base and card front. I popped the card front up on foam tape on the base, then added my Let It Snowflake Too Die-namics, cut from Silver Sparkle card stock, Gold Sparkle card stock, and Sweet Tooth card stock.

CTD471_2017nov29b

I stamped the sentiment from Dashing Deer stamp set with Versamark on a strip of Translucent Vellum and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. To adhere, I wrapped the ends around the card front and taped them down on the back side, avoiding the use of adhesive on the vellum since it’s hard to conceal.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD471 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd471 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented November Guest Designer, Kelly Lunceford!

MFT Hits & Highlights Design Team Challenge–Bitty Bears

hitsnhighlights_2017nov28

Teeny, tiny, Bitty Bears are sure to add charm to any card. With thirteen different bears in a variety of poses and accessories, the combinations for mixing and matching them are endless. Their diminutive size allows you to insert them into delightful scenes and situations. Stack them into an irresistible pile, combine them with other characters in your collection, and use them to accent die-cut words and scenes. You’ll never run out of inventive new ways to play with these Birdie Brown cuties.

Print

They are adorable, aren’t they?? And their size makes them all the more versatile. I chose to tuck them into the openings of Peek-a-Boo Window & Edges Die-namics for a sweet Christmas card. The bears are stamped with Black Licorice hybrid ink and colored with Copic markers after being cut out with the coordinating Die-namics.

hitsnhighlights_2017nov28b

I added red Tiny Check Paper Pack, stenciled some molding paste through Snowfall Stencil and added Layered Snowflakes to the front for a festive feel. To add a little more whimsy, I added the fun sentiment from BB Jingle All the Way on an Essential Speech Bubbles Die-namics, heat embossed and popped up on foam.

What a fun challenge and a fun card to make! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

You Are My Happy Place–MFT Color Challenge #82

MFTCPC82_2017nov23

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Cornflower, Blu Raspberry, Coral Crush, and Lemon Chiffon. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

Print

I love these colors!! They worked perfectly with an oil painting I’d pinned onto my inspiration board—I love it and it was just sitting there waiting to inspire me! I sponged the background (masked off the top while doing the bottom and vice versa) using the challenge colors in dye ink and stamped the sentiment from Beach Bunnies before popping it up on foam on a card base.

MFTCPC82_2017nov23b

Then I cut and adhered several elements from Beach Scene Builder Die-namics and added Puffy Clouds cut from Grout Gray card stock. I used my white gel pen to add a moon path on the water. So pleased with how this turned out!

With Sympathy–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #360

MFTWSC360_2017nov22

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_360

This was a fun sketch! I started my card but applying a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor paper and set it aside to dry. Then I created my trees for the vertical elements using Birch Trees and Solid Birch Trees Die-namics and added the leaves for a touch of Fall color (card stock colors listed below). To achieve the rounded corner treatment I simple scored and folded the corner down, securing it with a Ranger Tiny Attacher.

MFTWSC360_2017nov22b

I popped that up on the base on foam tape, added the trees, and then the sentiment from Essential Sentiments. It was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics, then popped up on foam.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Blessed–Color Throwdown Challenge #470

CTD470_2017nov22

Hey everyone, it’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Wanda is our hostess and she has some gorgeous Autumn colors for us based on this yummy inspiration piece.

swatch470

So, I could not think of anything better to do with these colors than to use Modern Trees. I didn’t want to do a “scene”—although I love them I’ve been doing a lot of them lately so wanted to do something different. First, I dry embossed Sweet Tooth card stock with Radiating Rays Stencil (WHAT will I do if it’s ever retired????) then sponged it with ink, starting with Tangy Orange, then Orange Fizz, and fading to Daffodil. I popped it up on foam on a card base then stamped the trees with the same colors added Chocolate Brown for the trunks/limbs.

CTD470_2017nov22b

Then I cut Blessed & Blessings Die-namics three times from Chocolate Brown card stock, stacked them, and added them to the card front with a little foam tape and it was done! Really loving this card.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the

Creative Construction with Blueprints Challenge—Holiday Tags

CCwithBP_2017nov16

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this month’s Creative Construction with Blueprints Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this month’s challenge: Holiday Tags. All of the details about the challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_CreativeConstruction_SideBar

You can’t have too many gift tags, can you? Handmade gift tags are a gift themselves—a bonus to accompany the actual gift. I have two very different tags for you today. First, I created a small scene on a Tag Builder Blueprints 4 Die-namics base using Scenic Snow Globe Die-namics.

CCwithBP_2017nov16b

The sentiment is from Snow Globe Sentiments and I finished off with some ribbon and baker’s twine.
*****

My second tag is a see-through shaker tag. I cut Tag Builder Blueprints 6 twice, inserted a Circle Shaker pouch in each, added 6mm Winter Snow Shaker Mix and Silver Shimmer seed beads, then glued the two halves together.

CCwithBP_2017nov16c

The sentiment is also from Snow Globe Sentiments and was heat embossed with Silver Zing! Glitter Embossing Powder on Cornflower card stock cut with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics. I added a Let It Snowflake Too, cut from Silver Sparkle card stock and the grommet cut from the same. I finished off with some crinkled seam binding from my stash and baker’s twine.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Celebrate–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #359

MFTWSC359_2017nov15

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_359

Goodness, this card was fun to make! I started by sponging some balloons on Sweet Tooth card stock using Big Balloons Stencil (ink colors listed below). I “tied” on some strings with a black Copic multiliner and splattered some gold Kuretake Gansai watercolors.

MFTWSC359_2017nov15b

Then I created my shaker element using foam tape, Heat Resistant Acetate, Black Licorice card stock cut with Stitched Square Frames, and filled it with Twinkle Lights Sparkly Shaker Selection sequins, Silver Shimmer seed beads. For the horizontal element I cut Celebrate Die-namics from Gold Sparkle card stock and twice from Sweet Tooth, stacked them for strength, and adhered it to the shaker frame.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

You’re One of a Kind–Color Throwdown #469

CTD469_2017nov15

Hey everyone! Welcome to a new Color Throwdown Challenge! Today’s colors are brought to us by the lovely Vickie based on her gorgeous inspiration piece.

swatch469

I simply couldn’t do anything but a snowflake card with these colors, now could I? I brought in my two blues with a watercolor wash background, then stamped a few snowflakes from You Make My Heart Melt stamp set and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The sentiment is from Snowfall of Blessings Stamp Set and was heat embossed with silver embossing powder on Black Licorice card stock.

CTD469_2017nov15b

Next I added some Let It Snowflake Too Die-namics, cut from Silver Sparkle card stock and elevated a bit on hot glue. Otherwise, dimension was achieved with foam mounting tape.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. My Favorite Things November Release Replay

releasereplay_2017nov14

Hello and welcome to MFT’s October Release Replay! Today our team is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present. We can’t wait to share our ideas with you!

Print
I’ve had this color palette in mind for a while to use with Snowflake Splendor and this seemed like a good time to use it. I stamped the images, alternating colors, on Sweet Tooth card stock, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and stacked them with foam tape between each layer.

releasereplay_2017nov14b

I added a strip of Homespun Gingham paper pack down each side of my card base then popped up a panel of Sweet Tooth on foam tape. I added the snowflake stack then embellished each with either Nuvo Jewel Drops – Rosewater, Nuvo Jewel Drops – Sea Breeze, matching colors. I finished by adding a sentiment using Peaceful Words Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock, stacked three layers deep and adhered beneath the snowflake.

And there you have it! Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you soon!
