I’m so Sorry–CTD #434

CTD434_2017mar15

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week the talented Amy Rohl has a seasonal color palette for us based on her graphic St. Patrick’s Day inspiration piece.

I decided these colors would work very nicely for a sympathy card—I never have one on hand when I need it, but this was pretty quick to make so it’s perfect for that.

I started with a
Sweet Tooth card stock base then added more Sweet Tooth card stock stamped with Garden Flourish Background and Black Licorice dye ink. I wanted it kind of distressed looking so I wasn’t too particular about coverage. I popped that up on the base with foam mounting tape and added Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frames Die-namics cut from Brushed Gold card stock, also popped up on foam.

Next I stamped a sentiment from Deepest Sympathy on a piece of Black Licorice card stock with Delicata Gold pigment ink and heat embossed with gold detail embossing powder, also popped up on foam. Then I cut Bold Greenery Die-namics from Ranger Watercolor Paper, colored them with Peerless Watercolors, adhered them to the card front and was done!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD434 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd434 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented March Guest Designer, Lisa Lara!

  2. Barbara this is gorgeous. I just bought those stitched scallop rectangle dies and never thought to use them as you have with the gold foil. Love it! Thanks so much for having me as a guest at Color Throwdown!
