Sending Sunshine and Rainbows–C4C #373

Hi, everyone! Welcome to another Crazy 4 Challenges! Today is sketch day and Tammy has a fun and classic sketch for us to play with.

I went a little off script but you’re used to that and I think the sketch is pretty obvious nonetheless ;-) I sponged some clouds on Sweet Tooth card stock with Blue Breeze dye ink using a Stitched Cloud Edges Die-namics die cut as a template and popped it up on foam mounting tape on a Sweet Tooth card stock base. I added End of the Rainbow Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and colored with Copic markers. Tip: this is a good way to conserve card stock if you’re a stickler for the ROYGBP rainbow configuration as I am.

Next I added Sunny Skies Die-namics cut from Sunshine card stock and the sentiment from Rainbow Greetings stamped on the cloud from End of the Rainbow Die-namics as the horizontal element. I love how this turned out!

And that's it! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C373.

It is with some sadness that I say today is my last project as a
Crazy 4 Challenges design team member. I’ve been on the team since it’s inception and have had so much fun, but there are too many demands on my time and something had to go. I will always look back fondly on these years and on the team. Thanks Crazy 4 Challenges!

Thanks for stopping by today—see you soon!

Thanks–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #320

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew exactly what I was going to do! Abstract Art was made for this sketch—or this sketch was made for Abstract Art, one or the other! I stamped two of the images repeatedly on Sweet Tooth card stock in a rainbow pattern, with, top to bottom, Electric Red dye ink, Orange Zest dye ink, Daffodil dye ink, Sour Apple dye ink, Blue Yonder dye ink, and Grape Jelly dye ink, then popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card base with foam mounting tape.

A CAS design like this needs a CAS sentiment so I cut Thanks & Hello Die-namics from Black Licorice card stock three times, adhered them together for strength and dimension, adhered it to the card, and it was done!

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

I Miss Your Hugs–CTD #430

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Wanda has chosen a very artsy color palette based on her equally artsy inspiration piece.

There were several ways I was thinking of going with this challenge but decided to use the just released Friends Furever and Friends Furever Die-namics from MFT for my card, along with Twice the Hugs Die-namics—also just released. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base and then air brushed a background on some Smooth White card stock for my background, then adhered it to the card base with foam mounting tape. I stamped the sweet little bear with Black Licorice hybrid ink on X-Press it Blending Card, cut him out with the coordinating die, and colored him with Copic markers. To create the “fur” look, I used Blender Solution and a washcloth.

The stamped part of the sentiment was stamped on Chocolate Brown card stock with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, then popped up on foam. The die cut part of the sentiment was cut from Gold Shine card stock and also popped up on foam. I adhered the bear with foam and finished off with some enamel dots.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD430 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd430 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented February Guest Designer, Donna Mikasa!
